Smalls Bar a Big Deal
A unique new venue is one step closer to bringing live music, local food and local beverages to Eaton Fair Shopping Centre.
After receiving liquor license approval earlier this week, construction is expected to begin on Small’s Bar, a venue that will bring together some of the best talent in WA to manage a social hub that highlights the quality produce available in the South West.
The bar will be managed by Michael Bovell, who has moved back to the South West after three years as General Manager of Little Creatures in Fremantle.
Mr Bovell was excited about the opportunity to showcase a cross section of local food and wine, with Small’s Bar set to provide a shared food dining experience with a seasonal focus.
"It’s good for Eaton – it will be a relaxed, family-friendly feel with really fantastic local foods,” he said.
"We’re planning a simple menu that will change regularly."
Executive chef Nigel Harvey, well-known as the executive chef at Voyager Estate in Margaret River for the past 13 years, will put on show the best of South West local produce.
Mr Harvey is currently undertaking an extensive search to find an experienced head chef to work with him in delivering a consistently high quality menu.
The venue will hold some 300 guests and have a mezzanine floor opening onto the town square that will also be available for functions.
It will be fitted out using raw and natural materials, to give an authentic, natural and slightly rustic ambience.
Construction is expected to commence for an opening in late August 2017.
